The Care Counseling and Trauma Services Program at NorthCare is designed to provide high quality outpatient mental health services to children, adolescents and families who have been impacted by trauma. Children who have been sexually abused or have experienced some other form of trauma can recover from the physical and emotional harm of being victimized. Our program provides a safe, therapeutic environment for children and their families to work though the trauma and the related feelings of anger, guilt, fear, sadness, hurt and loss of trust.

NorthCare’s Child and Adolescent Clinic offers a wide range of outpatient therapy services for children of all ages and their families. Our staff consists of licensed and master’s level therapists, who provide individual, family, and group therapy, case management and crisis services. Multilingual therapy services are also available. Families may seek our help because of problems related to depression, anxiety, sexual or physical abuse and other trauma, disruptive behaviors or family crises. Each family is provided a prompt intake appointment to develop a comprehensive service plan tailored to the unique strengths and needs of the family and child. Our goal is to improve the psychological and emotional well-being of children, adolescents and their families.

Families are referred for services by local OKDHS Child Welfare staff. NorthCare's CHBS services are intensive, in-home interventions designed to preserve, strengthen and restore the family. CHBS service goals include the prevention of further incidents of child abuse or neglect and family reunification. Case managers provide comprehensive services suited to each family’s needs, including: child health care, parent-child bonding, home safety, budgeting assistance and problem solving, crisis management, parent-child visitation and family reunification.

NorthCare's CIS provides 24-hour mental health assessment and stabilization for Oklahoma county children and families, who are in acute psychological, emotional or behavioral health crisis. Clinical staff provides telephone screening and in-person assessments, consultation and community linkage to facilitate a safe resolution to crises in youth under the age of 18. Case management and follow-up services are provided as part of this program. Intervention services are provided in office, family home, school or community settings.

NorthCare’s Home Study program provides home studies for prospective adoptive, foster care and kinship foster care applicants, who are referred through a contract with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. Home Resource Developers conduct home studies using the family-centered, child-focused model, according to the policy of the Division of Children and Family Services and state licensing standards. The Home Study program emphasis is assessing families and their homes with the safety and well-being of the children as the primary concern.

NorthCare's NC4K is an intensive treatment program designed to improve the psychological and emotional well-being of children, adults and families through specialized behavioral health services. Services are provided in the home, community and office. We use a full array of services, which include individual and family therapy, case management and social rehabilitation. Services are designed to assist with anger management, parenting skills, substance abuse, depression, sexual and physical abuse, attention-deficit and hyperactivity disorder, anxiety and other disruptions to healthy functioning.

This NorthCare program is designed to help children with severe emotional disturbances and their families obtain comprehensive care in their own community through the wraparound process. Wraparound is a planning process that follows a series of steps to help children, youth and families realize their hopes and dreams. A family team is formed with a care coordinator and a family support provider to create a plan that includes ways to ensure that the children and family experience success in their community, home and school. Family strengths and culture are used to meet family needs and goals.

Promise Place with NorthCare is a community-school partnership located at Emerson High School in Oklahoma City. Designed primarily for high school age males and females, who are parents or expectant parents, the project also serves students expelled from school for behavioral and truancy issues. Program services are designed to increase high school graduation rates and strengthen the family life of students. These goals are accomplished by offering students: the opportunity to continue their education, increase literacy skills, prepare for the work world, enhance family communication and support, develop healthy parenting skills, and increase their involvement and service within the community. Additional services include individual, family and group therapy, crisis intervention, and psychiatric-social rehabilitation.

Safe Families with NorthCare is a child maltreatment prevention project serving families with young children at high risk for abuse or neglect. The program provides services in the home utilizing the Project Safe Care model of services, or traditional counseling services provided by NorthCare’s Children and Family programs. Families learn how to reduce family stress, prevent behavioral problems from their children, improve communication, and discover resources in the community. Safe Families serves families residing in Oklahoma and Payne counties, who have at least one child under age six, and who are experiencing parenting difficulties or living with significant stressors.

Payne County Youth Services provides mental health case management, services coordination and outpatient treatment for children, adolescents and adults. Payne County Youth Services also provides counseling, prevention, diversion, crisis intervention, parent education, victims advocacy, workforce programming, emergency sheltering, and substance abuse treatment services to youth between the ages of 12-18, or in the 6th – 12th grades, and their families in the Payne and Pawnee County area. PCYS is the only agency in the area that provides services with no restriction to services based on the service recipient's inability or refusal to pay for such services.
